Sanjiv Bhattacharya started out as a journalist at GQ in London, where he was features editor then moved to Los Angeles where he spent nine years interviewing celebrities and writing features about fringe groups and subcultures, politics, vice and the sport of boxing. His work has appeared in the UK and the US, in titles like Details, the Los Angeles Times, Marie Claire, GQ and the Observer. He first wrote about polygamy for Marie Claire in 2004. But as his interest deepened, a documentary followed for Channel Four (UK) about the notorious religious leader Warren Jeffs. Then he spent several months exploring the wider world of Mormon fundamentalism in the American West. The story of his travels became SECRETS & WIVES: A Journey Into Mormon Polygamy. In amongst all this, he moved to India for a couple of years to edit lifestyle magazines for men, first in Bombay, then in Delhi. He now resides in Connecticut with his wife and two dogs. SECRETS & WIVES is his first book.
