Traci Mann is professor of social and health psychology at the University of Minnesota and an expert on the psychology of eating, dieting, and self-control. She received her B.A. from the University of Virginia and her Ph.D. in psychology from Stanford. She was a tenured professor and an award-winning teacher at UCLA before moving to the University of Minnesota, where she founded the Health and Eating Lab. Her research has been funded by the NIH, the USDA, and NASA. She has published articles in dozens of scholarly journals, and her studies have been reported widely in the popular press, from the New York Times and CNN to Scientific American and Real Simple. She and her lab will be featured in the much-anticipated BBC documentary "The Men Who Made Us Thin." She lives with her husband and their two sons in Minnesota.
