David Rakel, MD, is professor and chair of the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Previously he was the founder and director of the University of Wisconsin Integrative Medicine program and also associate professor in the family medicine department at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. A dynamic public speaker and lecturer, he has been awarded several teaching awards for both clinical and classroom presentations. He speaks nationally on health and wellness to thousands every year, and has been interviewed on NPR and for Dr. Oz The Good Life, Runner’s World, Self, Prevention, Body and Soul, and the Wall Street Journal.
