Jessamine Chan

Jessamine Chan is a former Publishers Weekly editor and Columbia MFA graduate. Her short fiction has appeared in Tin House and Epoch. In 2017, she received a grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation to fund the completion of this novel. Her work has also received support from Bread Loaf, the Wurlitzer Foundation, Jentel, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center, the Anderson Center, VCCA, and Ragdale. Among her many writer fans are: Carmen Maria Machado, Diane Cook, Catherine Chung, and Karen Thompson Walker. She has also studied with a number of additional writers, including David Ebershoff, Sam Lipsyte, Victor LaValle, and Percival Everett. She lives in Philadelphia, with her husband and daughter. This is her first novel.
