After her strict Middle-Eastern father forbade her to act, dance, or sing publicly, Orli Auslander turned to drawing because pencils were one of the few things that couldn’t be outlawed. Fleeing her family’s home in London, England, Auslander landed in New York City where she worked as a milliner and a radio personality on WLIR, New York, before returning to her first love, creating art.
Auslander’s work has been shown in the U.S. England and Spain and was recently featured on the series Happyish for Showtime Television. I FEEL BAD is her first book. She is married to the author Shalom Auslander and lives with her family in upstate New York.
