James Scott is Professor of Statistics at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a statistician and data scientist who has won many awards for both his research and teaching, including the Bayarri Prize, given for early career achievements by a statistician under 35, as well as the Regent’s Outstanding Teaching Award, the highest teaching prize in the University of Texas system.  His introductory data science course at UT attracts an audience of over 700 students a semester.
